Amongst the food stalls on Stokes Hill Wharf is Tommy's. Manned, so to speak, by a flock of Timorese women who don't do a lot of char-grilling but do put out heaps of crispy battered fish. Order and pay at the counter, collect your number and in the fullness of time the food is delivered to you. It is very good and very well priced. Tommy's bottle shop next door will sell you a glass of wine, the stars shine and the waters murmer below you. What more could you want?
