Mietta's Review
It has ben described as "a funky little Modern Asian joint", the conjunction of "funky", "Modern" and "Asian" can only be the work of someone with "round eyes". And so it is - Murray Williams strikes again. This time deep into the heart of Asia whose many cuisines he makes his own. The food works well for his modern Australian New Farm clientele and is priced reasonably for the area. In 06 mains averaged $22.

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 2006 "Chef-owner Murray Williams offers his diners laksas, curries and spices at this modern Asian restaurant, including pi pa prawns and red duck curry. And he had so much fun doing it at New Farm, he's now opened a new restaurant in Noosa"

Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "It's what he's always done best. Chef and restaurateur Murray Williams knows how to put that modern spin on Chinese and Thai dishes, and the results are always bold and colourful"

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Chef-owner Murray Williams takes diners on a gastronomic tour of Asia at this casual new eatery, complete with banquette seating, bamboo and statues of Buddha"

Courier-Mail Lizzie Loel Restaurant 10/5/05 score Food: 15 Wine 13 Service 15 Ambience 15 "It's the Asian theme that has the chopsticks clicking in his new venture, Madame Fu's, on the site of the old Grape Wine and Food Bar in New Farm. The place has been reconfigured, but still remains compact with a subtle Asian edge. Gold buddhas and bamboo lend warmth to the corridor dining room where lacquered banquettes line the walls."

Brisbane News Natascha Mirosch 20/4/05 score 8/10 " Restaurant mini-mogul Murray Williams is at it again. The irrepressible former owner of Ciao Baby, The Mark and The Dining Room has just given birth to a new baby. ...Madame Fu's, particularly as it is going to stay open until late, is the kind of place you can drop into on the way to or from the movies or just stroll to if you're a lucky local. Now, if Murray Williams would just open one on my side of town. Food: pan-asian, service: casual, proficient , ambience: cool, vaguely retro australasian."
