Mietta's Review
Steaks and other (well-done) pub-bistro food at restaurant prices are on offer at this big eat, drink, gamble establishment crammed into a heritage double-storey hotel with two-tiered lace-work encrusted verandahs. This is a newish addition, much loved by uni students and other dedicated drinkers where they can also eat steak and prawns. In 06 mains averaged $26.

Courier Mail food and wine guide Queensland 2008 Score: 12/20 "The Regatta Boatshed Restaurant is the western suburbs' answer to the Breakfast Creek Hotel. Steak restaurants in hotels are a Brisbane tradition and the Boatshed updates the theme"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "This is a shining example of how far Brisbane's pub dining has come"

Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 "The Regatta Hotel is a favourite venue for university students (apparently Wednesdays are the new Fridays here) but the grand old Queenslander, built in 1886, also offers modern cuisine."

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Once you get over the boating jokes about oarsome beef, you start to appreciate that the steaks really are good. The wine list comprises the usual line-up of Australians"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "Although the emphasis is on steak and seafood in this large, contemporary venue, which is open on three sides and boasts river views plus an authentic rowing scull, you can find some tasty vegetarian fare too."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "the heritage-listed 1886 building with its wide iron-lace balconies also offers modern cuisine, while retaining its historical ambience. In the new undercover eating area, the Boatshed, even non-nautical types can get a solid feed of good pub food."
