In its last manifestation it was ZYX, but now, with a new owner, new menu and new chef, it's become the Newsroom Cafe, with a director rather than a manager, although there's nary an editor in sight.Inside nothing much has changed except for the wall posters. Aficionados will be glad to see that the cosy bench retreats are still there, as are the distressed tongue-and-groove wall panels and the ancient bricks. You can still sit on the footpath in the winter sun and inhale the traffic fumes, conduct a secret rendezvous inside or eavesdrop on the conversations of bushy-tailed students as they recover from exams. You can even hear the local gossip from the shoppers and business people of Toowong Village."
