Mietta's Review
The grottiest pub in Bribane has changed from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan or more accuately into a smart new pool hall with bars, a balcony and a two level dining area. The food situation has also undergone similar gentrification. So, if you aren't a pool player and don't care for the cocktail bar try the modern Australian food in the split-level dining area. In 06 mains averaged $18.

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "A revamp of both venue and menu has raised this former pool hall's currency of cool. A split-level dining area, bars and a stylish balcony are great places to enjoy an all-day snack and mains menu"

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "What was a down-at-heel pool hall is now a groovy, multi-functional venue - still with pool tables, plus a couple of bars, an alfresco balcony and split-level dining. It's a place where theatre and motor racing types have been known to let their hair down and grab a cue."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "Recent renovations have made room for 150 diners but enhanced the bar's contemporary atmosphere. Chef Troy Dobbs's menu shows an innovative touch."

Courier Mail Goodlife Bar Nick Bray 31/7/04"THE down-at-heel pool hall at West End, the legendary Pavilion, is no more. The grunge is gone thanks to an extensive renovation and in its place is a slick new pool hail with a cocktail bar out the front."
