Mietta's Review
Funky and fun atmosphere, the Tongue and Groove also serves imaginative and value for money food. The menu is divided between B (breakfast) L (lunch) and D (dinner) - some dishes are featured on both L and D - but the selection is interesting and broad. A small, but interesting and well priced wine list marries well with the food. There is also live music downstairs later and the pool table has left the premises. In 06 mains averaged $19.50.

Courier Mail food and wine guide Queensland 2008 Score: 12/20 "Chic grunge or just grunge - depends on your point of view; it's possibly post postmodern. Neither cafe nor restaurant - basic bistro perhaps"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "The formula here is about keeping it simple and laid-back, from the gutted interior with polished floorboards, to the footpath dining space"

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Choose your entertainment: sit outside and watch lively West Enders; enjoy the artworks hanging in the dining room; or head downstairs to the bar where DJs and live music set the groove five nights"

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "This funky, slightly decadent West End establishment has been around for a long time, and its mood changes with the path of the sun. During the day, its airy open spaces lure attractive women of all ages, some with babies in tow, as well as local businessmen, but at night the real action takes place in the dark downstairs area, where live bands featuring young performers take over."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "As well as a funky retro interior and pleasant alfresco dining, the restaurant offers live entertainment every night."

Brisbane News 2002 Eating Out Guide,'Old kitchen tables and aluminium chairs give the upstairs section a homely feel. Downstairs is a funky bar area.
