Mietta's Review Glossy, glassy and brassy and even better than the Como Laurent. Here there is more space, lounge chairs and almost serene. But all the Laurent shops are good with great patiserie, breads and coffee. Also at Shop 2/ 71 Church St Brighton, 9592 8411; Shp 3/ 310 Whitehorse Rd Balwyn, 9830 0188; 600 Burke Rd Camberwell, 9882 9611; 1 Powlett St East Melbourne, 9417 7310; 139 Upper Heidelberg Rd Ivanhoe, 9497 3844; Shop 2/ 26 Princess St Kew, 9853 7900; U 2/ 306 Little Collins St Melbourne, 9654 1011; Como Centre Shop Tr16 Chapel St (cnr Toorak Rd) South Yarra, 9824 1414; 477 Toorak Rd Toorak, 9827 6928

Age A2 10/7/04 "These shops/ cafes are a real success story. Gateau aficionados can indulge in lemon or passionfruit tarts, a trio of chocolate offerings or oblongs of millefeuille (about $5.50 each). For the less sweet-toothed, there are croissants and brioche (about $2)"

Delifrance Cafe & Bakery Victoria A very open and straightforward place. It's a high standard sandwich bar where you order and pay at the counter.
Laurent (Albert Park) Victoria Glossy, glassy and brassy and even better than the Como Laurent but still with the same great product.
Le Croissant Des Halles Victoria At the Queen Victoria Market this bakery stall serves the ultimate Franco-Aussie culinary combination - hot dog in a croissant.
