Mietta's Review
The fit-out of this Victorian building in salubrious Armadale is so beautiful it's almost edible, No wonder it's so popular with the ladies of the region, often accompanied by their children. The food is smart south of the river cafe fare - open smoked salmon sandwiches, pies and some vegetable dishes. Prices are reasonable.

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "Expansion of the artistic mind just wasn't enough at RSG; its casual cafe has also : expanded, to the front room strung with artworks"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "It's great to see a place that combines two potentially hazardous items: in this instance, art and food. The atmosphere at Rose is more cafe than gallery, but it wears both hats well."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 Loved by the locals, this tucked-away daytime cafe offers elegant fare in the relaxed surroundings of a modest terrace house with a sun-dappled courtyard. The menu makes the most of simple seasonal ingredients

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "ALL that is Armadale is celebrated in this gorgeous cafe: a Victorian era building with lofty pressed-metal ceilings, polished floorboards and rosy artwork mounted on the whitest walls."

Age Epicure Matt Preston 10/8/04 "Armadale's 18-month-old Rose Street Gallery Cafe. Here is a cafe so smart and so beautifully put together that you'd expect it had its own personal shopper and cosmetic surgeon. Closely packed pictures of roses in glorious colour dominate the walls. ... the general design feel is shabby chic meets Tricia Guild meets limewashed French provincial. Light, summery and stylishly casual - it's the sort of place that the good ladies of Sydney's Paddington and Bellevue Hill would kill for."
