Mietta's Review
The name may appear French but there's no mistaking the nationality of the owner and his place - Italian - almost to the point of parody. It's a shopfront restaurant and gourmet deli that promotes the produce of the area and the magic of Italy.

Other published opinions

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 "From the monogrammed menus to the man himself, this shopfront restaurant bears the stamp of owner Luigi 'Gigi' Cipolato. His Italian focus runs from the idiosyncratic wine list with Italian varietals to the Venetian mask decorations."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 score 14/20 "ASK any Beechworth burghers who know their Giaconda and slow braised goat, and they'll direct you to this shopfront cafe, produce store and restaurant plum in the middle of the historic main street."

Gourmet Traveller 2005 Restaurant Guide "Venetian-born hospitality veteran Luigi "Gigi" Cipolato has stamped his mark on this cosy main-street bistro and gourmet deli. It has taken on a pronounced Italian accent, while continuing to promote the produce and wines of the region."

The Foodies' Guide 2004,Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'The menu offers top-quality Italian dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner most days, along with one of the district's best coffee and wine lists.'

The Age Good Food Guide 2004 1 hat, score 15/20, excellent wine list

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004, Excellent wine list, Good vegetarian options,'Beechworth is a wine buff's mecca. The easiest way to track down hard to find vintages is to visit this surprisingly good trattoria in Beechworth's main street...To match, there are bright 'n' breezy regional Italian classics...also has the area's best coffee.'
