Bazzani ITALIANO in Bendigo

Mietta's Review
Bazzani since opening in 1995, has been Bendigo's ultimate occasion restaurant. Stylish, and very well set up by the Bazzani family, it's opposite Rosalind Park, within the gardens of a heritage-listed property. Today it's owned by chef, Brendan Tuddenham and Kathie Bolitho, who looks after the floor. The atmosphere is more bistro than in the old days and prices are also a little less.

Age Good Food Guide 2008 "Bazzani's menu has recently developed a strong Italian accent"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 "Bazzani's bistro atmosphere and personable service draw a conservative crowd who dine alfresco or book window tables with park views."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "THIS grand Bendigo icon is now under new ownership. Good dishes evoke memories of the glory days but on occasions you may strike fussy or poorly executed food." T

he Foodies' Guide 2004,Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'This is part of a family empire that extends to Warrenmang Vineyard Resort, with its excellent wine, accommodation and restaurant.Bazzani presses all the right buttons come food time.Lunches are simple...dinner is more stylish, with plenty of regional produce'

AGFG 2004, score 14/20

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004, Good vegetarian options,'Dishes range from good to exceptional, their flavours pure and mostly Italian, but with Asian or Middle Eastern touches...Attention is paid to things that matter...Things casual down at lunch when the food is cheaper and snackier. The wine list has a decent selection by the glass'

Herald Sun, 28.08.01, Stephen Downes "Bazzani can demonstrate admirable cooking and heaps of flavour when it wants to, but it also provides inconsistency. The dishes, too, deserve tweaking into higher gear for these prices. A page of wine by the glass begins the liquor list, which is limited and quite expensive. The cheapest pinot noir was $24.40. Score: 12 out of 20."

The Age (Epicure), 23.05.00, Claude Forell "Bendigo's beautifully sited Bazzani restaurant lives up to its famous name. Score: 15 out of 20"
