Mietta's Review Kalaidescope defines itself strictly as a place for adults, not prams and naughty children who "hinder the normal carrying out of business" say the owners. This policy has caused much angst in this child friendly community because they have enjoyed other aspects of Kaleidscope's style. In the previous premises, many Brunswick locals apprecated the visual presence created by the changing art works on the walls and the dynamics of members of the Moreland arts community who gathered there. It was the sort of place where you might stumble across a heated discussion between regulars. There was often live music in the evenings and Sunday afternoons. The food was healthy, interesting and reasonably priced.

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "THIS hippy-dippy day place won't appeal to the mumsie brigade, but it's a second lounge room for many Brunsniks. The decor (complete with a mind-bending mural) is busy, but the pace is more casual, enhanced by good coffee and all-day breakfasts"
The Age Cheap Eats 2004 "THIS kitsch-come-hippy cafe is a home away from home for many locals. The resulting living-room vibe is just the place to commandeer a table and linger over an all-day brekkie they do a great line in eggs-any-way with tangy hollandaise."
The Age, Sunday Life, Eat Streets, 21/7/02. "Escape the traffic for a calm, colourful cafe.",/p>
