Mietta's Review
It's a great place, sandwiches, rolls, foccacias, warm daily specials, are available with interesting fillings. There is an extensive array of colourfully packaged pre-cooked provisions ready to take home for dinner, or if your making your own, you can pick up the odd imported ingredient from the shelves lining the walls and window sill; cans of tomatoes, packets of pasta and giant tins of olive oil. The presentation of the alimentation continues in a refrigerated counter, cheeses, pastrami, ham, salami, olives and homemade dips sit waiting to be sliced, spread, put on some bread and gobbled up. Service is friendly and efficient.

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "Ciao - or is it marhaba? The distance between Lebanon and Italy isn't far at this old-world deli (with its exposed bricks and high-corniced ceilings) where ribbons of prosciutto and other Italian antipasto sit alongside Middle Eastern dips"

Herald Sun Donna Coutts, 27-01-07 "Friendly, low-fuss service. Excellent produce and cafe meals mostly with Italian influences. Prices are very reasonable. It's a terrific neighbourhood food shop."

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Holy hummus, Batman - Alimentari has extended its floorspace, cramming in a banquette and bar stools among the comestible-stacked shelves and deli counter filled with traditional Lebanese and Italian food."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 There's no decaf, only real coffee at this relaxed foodstore. The no-fuss decor uses tins of olives and packets of pasta as decoration on the shelves. As the lunch crowd comes and goes, clutching rolls and focaccias, punters perched around timber tables
