Mietta's Review
This greek restaurant has been around for many years and is still thriving. The atmosphere's warm and comfortable with family groups around chunky wooden tables. The menu has the usual greek offerings, as well as home-style dishes like moussaka, pastitsio and yemista (stuffed vegetables). The dips were a bit disappointing. The seafood and meat platters are huge affairs that will take care of your protien requirements for a while. Souvlaki (lamb kebab), yiro (lamb and chicken on the spit), chicken drummettes and spicy sausages are all first-class. Crumbed calamari was tender and fresh fish was perfectly grilled.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "Ebullient waiters and Greek pop music add colour to this simple, family-friendly taverna"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Dips loves to break the rules. In what other Greek restaurant would you find kangaroo in the souvlaki, or potatoes served in a creamy Indianstyle sauce? There's an element of lovable kookiness at this familyrun restaurant, with its dated decor and gregarious staff."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 The name might be unimaginative and, yes, they do serve dips, but this family-run restaurant is a fave of eastern suburbs families who come to fill up on hearty Greek food.

The Age Cheap Eats 2004 "THIS pine-clad taverna has more wood than the film set of Boogie Nights, but it's the homestyle Greek grub that has the greatest sex appeal."
