Mietta's Review
It's all about fusion; blurring the boundary between food and flowers. Fat Tulip, near The Little Shop on Glenferrie Hill, is a combination of cafe and flower shop. Most of the flowers on display are in pastel, gelati or sorbet tones, like the decor - which with its chandeliers has a sort of French flirtiness about it. Fat Tulip is unmistakably feminine coffee and Tazo tea, come in silver pots and vintage china teacups, and to eat you can choose from lavender flavoured meringues, orange blossom scones fresh from the oven with rose jam, or cakes sprinkled with candied violets. Everything is so delicate and pretty, its very much like a little girls tea-party.
