Mietta's Review
At lunch it's a smart dining space for the business crowd who revisit for afterwork drinks and later it becomes a lounge/bar scene. All very corporate and comfortable with its dark toned decor and flattering lighting. Live music at weekends.

Other published opinions

The Age Clem Bastow, 3-8-2007 "If you're a long-term follower of Bar Fly, you will have read about the bars around Melbourne that seem to be striving to re-create the ambience of a share-house living room, grandma's sitting room, or even - seemingly - the op-shop-chic of my personal stylish hovel. I say "seem to" because it's probably mere coincidence; unless, that is, you're talking about The Apartment, which is at pains to create a lounge-room "vibe" - only it's a lounge room I was in no hurry to lounge in"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 12/20 "A basement hideaway for the CBD's movers and shakers, the apartment second-guesses its clients' needs perfectly, right down to the cigar humidor concealed in a cubbyhole. By cleverly providing patrons with the corporate holy grail of sophisticated business lunches as well as loungey after-work drinks and tapas, this venue manages to suit the suits at most hours of the day and night."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "This earthy, suede-covered sunken lounge morphs from a suave yet easygoing dining spot during the day into a seductively comfortable, plump-cushioned space by nightfall."

The Age (melbourne) magazine 4/12/04 Melinda Houston "this warm, sophisticated basement venue does the corporate chic thing perfectly. ... There's a terrific tapas menu (think gyoza, lamb meatballs with yoghurt), a smart wine list, some nice beers on tap."

AGFG 2004, score 14/20, excellent bar The Age, A2, 29/11/03, Melinda Houston,'This civilised, stylish basement bar has a slightly corporate feel, but in the nicest possible way.Suggest your collegues meet you here.'
