The Age Michael Harden, 9-11-2007 "How you experience the first floor and the rooftop bar depends on your capacity to withstand the after-work drinks crowd, with whom the Red Hummingbird is particularly popular, especially on Fridays. When we went it was full house by 6pm. However, one person's crowded room is another's smorgasbord of new faces, so if you don't like it busy, go another time. The drinks list - particularly the cocktails - is excellent. There is a good range of beer and wines, and all the spirits most drinkers come to expect from a groovy bar these days."

Two stories above street level, the roof has been given a Bali-resort going-over, complete with hanging wicker chairs, palms, timber decking, candles and heated, undercover areas for those rare occasions when Melbourne's weather does not resemble the tropics. It is an excellent venue for outdoor imbibing. Should the weather turn foul (or the clock strike midnight, when the outside licence expires), the Red Hummingbird's main bar one floor below is a similarly atmospheric"
