Mietta's Review
A grand architectural space of soaring concrete houses a large amount of beer. So much, in fact, that they even sell it with matching food. All of which is served by metalically adorned staff. The beeper presented by the bar tells when your food is ready.

Other published opinions

The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "At Transport, shouting doesn't just mean buying someone a beer - it's the only way to communicate"

The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "Transport looks like a designer departure lounge - big windows, iron girders and lots of suits - but it sounds like a suburban disco with friends shouting over pulsing beats."

The Age Cheap Eats 2006 Maybe it's time to see the latest. Transport will, well, transport you to a future when your local is a space-flight lobby with concrete, tentacles of shiny piping and pagers that beep when your meal is ready.

The Age A2 The Good Life Melinda Houston 4/6/05 "THE clever people at Transport, the meta-pub anchoring Federation Square, have taken the beer and food thing to its logical end, offering special dishes matched to particular brews."

The Age Cheap Eats 2005 "WITH its soaring ceilings, angular concrete and natural light, Transport could be a gallery. But the boutique beers on tap (plus 137 labels in the fridge), music that grows louder as the day draws on, a smoky atmosphere and body-pierced staff leave you in no doubt that it's really a pub."

The Age, A2, 1/5/04, Melinda Houston,'Unbelievably for a joint this size, people are queing around the block to get in on a Friday night.Sure, most are here for the staggering range of imported and local beers. But some also choose to sample something from the bar menu and those who do are richly awarded.'

Herald Sun,citystyle,25/5/04,Danielle Johnston,'Transport is the first of three drinking destinations being unveiled in this slick,multi-level riverside complex.Bold and brash,it's a monolith of designer concrete, glass and steel.Dance beats,100-plus beers, two beer gardens ( a rare find in the city) and Japanese bar snacks are pulling in huge peak-hour crowds.'

The Age,Agenda,2/5/04,Melinda Houston,'Despite its sharp styling,Transport is really more a pub than a bar. It's big, noisy, jolly, and with loads of beer (and meat pies for them that wants them)...Transport oozes genuine hospitality.'

Herald Sun, Sunday Magazine, 8/2/04, Sally Fisher,'it's the pub of the future. There's a little sushi bar, an espresso machine, a full bar, a restaurant upstairs, TV's flight info from the airport-plus Yarra views. And the mixed crowd is something to behold.'
