Mietta's Review
Elevated above street level and looking out over the water. The large windows allow great views from all parts of this busy cafe/food store/bar. It's fun, bright and lively. In keeping with the name, the decor features lemon with touches of black and white. Beautiful breads, muffins and cakes on display. French toast fingers with mascarpone, lemon scented spiced apple. Coffee, oils, pasta and curry pastes all for sale along with takeaway meals. Great place for breakfast with kids - they even have Coco Pops on the menu. Service is fast and friendly.

The Age A2 21/5/05 Rita Erlich "There's a real cafe feel here. The space is dominated by a large counter that displays cakes and panini, topped with big glass jars of biscuits and sweets (giant freckles and smarties are 80 cents each). Along one wall, a refrigerated cabinet holds fruit juice and milk, and the shelves hold some grocery items (preserves and pasta). It all feels like a country cafe, although this is clearly the modern urban version."

The Age Cheap Eats 2004,Excellent breakfasts,Good,'watery views, silky lattes and plenty of shiny people running, rollarblading and promenading past. But that's not to make Cafe Zest sound pretentious, for it's as much neighbourhood coffee shop as grand destination.Breakfast's the pick...Lunch prices put it at the very edge of Cheap Eats territory, but hey remember those views.'

The Age,Epicure,1/6/04,Daniella Miletic,'The views at Cafe Zest aren't as great, but there is a genuine friendly atmosphere that is nicely coupled with decent restaurant meals.'

The Age, A3, 29/12/03, Jane Faulkner,'The view is not as majestic...but there's still that summary charm of seeing the sea' Herald Sun,City Style, For richer, for poorer,17/6/2003, 'Solid cafe menu with a nod towards vegetarian dishes.'
