Mietta's Review
Initially Stefan Le Grande came to Melbourne to work at MIetta's, then he stumbled upon Queenscliff. This native of Brittany has been cooking at the Vue Grand Hotel since 1985, his menu uses his French background with some Asian flourishes. Good wine list. The Hotel also has rooms, billiards room, and a bar. Dinner and accommodation packages are available.

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 14/20 "To walk through the heavy double doors into the Vue Grand's main dining room s to step back into a more genteel time: after countless bistro experiences, there's a real pleasure to be had in settling into a 19th-century room with seven metre-high ceilings, swooping light fittings and a grand piano at its heart"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "Watching white-gloved waiters performing silver service in this grand hotel dining room, it's easy to think that little has changed since its 19th century heyday. Until you see Stephane Le Grand's menu. For close to a decade he's been experimenting with ideas from all over"

The Foodies' Guide 2004,Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'Another example of excellent 19th century architecture, something Queenscliff has plenty of.The menu is mainly French and the standard way above average.'

AGFG 2004, score 14/20, excellent wine list, wide selection of vegetarian dishes, acommodation available

Herald Sun, Weekend, 17/1/04, Simon Plant,'There's nothing remotely stuffy about the service...or the menu...skilfully constructed food'
