Open Ba nd Lunch Mon-Sun; Licensed; MC V EFT
Mietta's Review It's in a most unlikely situation - the ground floor of an anonymous block of flats but its friendly neighbourhood feeling, communal table and pleasant courtyard combined with good service and food make this a popular destination.

Herald Sun Extra Food, Greg Thom, 12-08-08 Score: ** "Split over two levels, New York Tomato is a neighbourhood cafe with an industrial-chic feel"
The Age Cheap Eats 2008 "The novelty of a nifty name can fade but the appeal of this back-block beauty certainly hasn't"
The Age Cheap Eats 2007 "There's nothing especially NYC about NYT, but it is on the corner of New and York Streets. Surrounded by warehouses, the shaded courtyard, chilled vibe and sociable staff make this cafe an urban boho oasis."
The Age Cheap Eats 2006 This warehousey spot has been transformed into a Richmond retreat for urbanites. Happy staff deliver standout brekkies ... When it's too warm to be indoors, take to the sheltered courtyard out front.
Herald Sun score 16/20 Donna Coutts 22/3/05 "Good food, excellent value, friendly and efficient service. Worth making your local if you are a local."
The Age Cheap Eats 2004 "THIS out-of-the-way cafe-bar, in a modern concrete townhouse, feels right neighbourly down to the communal table and paved courtyard."
Herald Sun, citystyle, Eat Treats, 6/5/03, Michael Harden. One of Melbourne's hidden gems.
