Mietta's Review
It may have funky, smart retro clutter but it's still a good local for a beer or three. A cosy space which is always busy. There must be bunfights on at op-shops all over these days to find the best tat, if Melbourne's pubs are anything to go by. The dining room is popular with pub meals at pub prices. Really friendly service too.

The Age Craig Platt 2/3/06 "Weeknights at the Chief are popular with the after-work crowd. It's a mix of blokes from the nearby auto mechanics and workers from South Melbourne's burgeoning small businesses. There's a welcoming vibe, though, and the bar staff are among the friendliest you'll find in this part of town."
