Very cool underground bar with lush velvet seating and terrific cocktails. The main feature here is the range of vodka, over 40, from around the world, but there is also champagne and caviar on a small but interesting menu. Popular with a varied though quite young crowd.

St Kilda Sports Club, 9534 5229, 66 Fitzroy St, ST KILDA This bowling club still retains the feeling of old St Kilda - cheap drinks, heaps of space, daggy decor, sausage sizzles and lawn bowls.
