Mietta's Review
Neilsons lives in an Edwardian house with tables and chairs set in the front garden. It's smallish rooms are furnished with the requisite period pieces. The elaborate food comes laced with many flavours and the influences are often Asian, particularly with the entrees. The wine list contains a nice selection of local bottles. It's a popular choice with the locals.

Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 15/20, One Hat "An outwardly modest restaurant housed n a refurbished cottage, chic Neilsons is anything but modest once you pass through its portal"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "Neilsens doesn't look impressive, but at night it positively shines. In an intimate, Edwardian house, stylishly decorated with artworks, antiques and candelabra, Gippslanders flock to create a noisy weekend buzz at low, pressed-tin tables."

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 score 14/20 "TRARALGON is about smoke stacks and power stations, not chic dining. But somebody forgot to tell Neilsons - this charming restaurani does food as good as you will find anywhere in Gippsland. It's welcoming and stylish: countrified enough for the locals yet slick enough to please travelling urbanites."
