Mietta's Review
Owner/chef Murphy Aneja clearly cares about the culture of India, a passion sustained by regular trips there which inspire his occasional regional menus. The focus is on North India with tandoori and curry dishes. Prices are very reasonable and the service is good.

Other published opinions

Age Good Food Guide 2008 "No need for a main-street address or bells and whistles; Bukhara's reputation after 14 years in Warragul is for its food, admired for the attention paid to hand-roasting spices and the tandoori clay oven"

The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 14/20 "Bukhara has been going strong for 13 years, and a loyal band of followers return regularly to this humble shopfront dining room with its linen-draped tables and competent staff. Owner and chef Murphy Aneja has put his indelible stamp on the place, setting the tone with his menu's opening treatise - 'How to enjoy the Indian meal at its very best'"

The Age Good Food Guide 2005 score 14/20 "AFTER 12 years in the game, Bukhara is ageing with charm: candlelight plays on the mirrored walls and murals and, of course, on your unflappable host, Murphy Aneja. It's a very comfortable place to eat. The standard menu sticks close to the classics"

The Foodies' Guide 2004,Allan Campion & Michele Curtis,'It's an unlikely spot for a great Indian restaurant. Our good friend Rick passed this one on to us and we thank him very much.Where would we be without Murphy Aneja's specialties such as Punjabi lamb, marinated char-grilled chicken and yummy burfi kesar,a saffron-scented milk cake, for dessert?'

AGFG 2004, socre 14/20, wide selection of vegetarian options, two course for $25 or less

The Age, 17.04.01, Claude Forell review "Excellent, award-winning Indian restaurant that shines in West Gippsland. Score: 15 out of 20"
