Mietta's Review
Serving traditional Gallic cuisine, Christine and Jean-Charles Lamotte have made French fine dining part of the Darwin restaurant scene. The old tropical house setting lends itself to the general ambience and provides lots of rooms of varying size for an intimate dinner or a family celebration.

Courier Mail food and wine guide Queensland 2008 Score: 12/20 "Once someone's home, La Chaumiere still has a homely feel. You enter by a little bar, the character of which is somehow evocative of provincial France"

CitySearch Christine Bond March 2006 "Located in one of the few remaining old tropical houses in the central city, La Chaumiere is renowned for its traditional Gallic dishes and gracious service. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Jean-Charles and Christine Lamotte, the restaurant offers a quiet retreat where guests are made to feel they are dining with friends"

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004,'properly prepared, tradtional French food ... this is good food cooked to order ... the mood is comfortable and familar. Service from Christine Lamotte is personable and efficient. The wine list covers a fair amount of territory and includes a handful of French drops'
