Mietta's Review
Vlado Gregurek has been running his legendary steak house since 1963. Vlado's is an example of doing one thing and doing it perfectly. The meat is carefully aged by Vlado on the premises and cooked as requested. So if it's the ultimate steak you're after this is where you'll find it. Recommended.

Age Good Food Guide 2009 Score: 13/20 "In Melbourne's post-Rockpool food-and-wine landscape, where talk of steak tends to focus on marble grades, dry-ageing and the merits of grain- versus grass-feeding, you may wonder where a humble grill-jockey like Vlado Gregurek is supposed to fit in"
Age Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "After 43 years the Viado's dining experience has surely moved beyond a 'formula' and into the realm of quasi-religious rite. Like the church, the themes here - at Melbourne's bestknown steakhouse - are permanence, dependability and a total imperviousness to fashion"
The Age Good Food Guide 2006 score 13/20 "It was 1964 when Vlado Gregurek first fired up his mallee root charcoal grill - and Melbourne's love affair with steak restaurants. Since then many have followed (indeed, some may even have overtaken him) but for an authentically beefy meal you still can't go past the Big V. This ever-busy Richmond veteran epitomises the saying, If it ain't broke, don't fix it'."
Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide "Vlado's is about meat. It's also about longevity, dedication, consistency, passion, commitment and pleasure. Last year "meat specialist" (he's quick to point out that he doesn't consider himself a che Vlado Gregurek celebrated 40 years in the restaurant business, 40 years of serving some of the finest meat you'll find this side of Kobe."
The Age Good Food Guide 2005 "The one-size-fits-all meat menu has made the Richmond restaurant a rallying point for business leaders, AFL heavyweights, visiting celebrities and the carnivorously curious. Little has changed over 40 years."
